Malaga is a wonderful and safe city to visit with children.

My recommendations for a visit to our city are;

- Stroll along MUELLE UNO, where besides doing some shopping, you can also eat in its many restaurants (Cambara, Mamma Mia, La Tagliatela, TGB, are the best for children), throw bread to the fish and see some mega yachts that are usually docked in the port. You can also see one of the best sunsets in the city. A very pleasant area for a family stroll.

In summer I recommend going in the evenings and in the other seasons it is very pleasant both at night and in the middle of the day.

In Muelle Uno you will also find some fun water activities for adults and children (go to my activities category and book the catamarans, fast and without queues).

- Take the CITY SIGHTSEEING BUS (You will find all the info in my Transport/Public Transport category). Nice as you can see the city comfortably without children saying ..... I'M TIREEEEED. As a special recommendation here I suggest you go up to Gibralfaro, with the red bus line, enter the Castle, which is worth a visit for its history and the views you can see from there.

- Another possibility and a pleasant walk with children is the "LA MALAGUETA" PATH, 610 m long, with spectacular views of the bullring, pier one and the park promenade, among others, ending at the Gibralfaro viewpoint where you can take some wonderful photos. It is accessed by the ascent to the Gibralfaro Castle, a few metres before reaching the Parador.

- Another thing that the kids can't leave without trying are the delicious and healthy "frituras malagueñas". Try any chiringuito on the beach where, as well as eating delicious, healthy and tasty food, they can play in the sand on the beach. For me the best ones are LAS PALMERAS, EL BALNEARIO and LOS ESPIGONES (you can see it in my category restaurants).

- If you have more than one day and you want to visit a nearby village, the most original one to visit with children is the smurf village: JÚZCAR. (In my category villages you can find how to get there).

- It is great fun to visit the CUEVA DEL TESORO, 15 km from the city centre, in Rincón de la Victoria. One of the 3 caves of marine origin in the world. Click here and book your ticket.

- For the more adventurous and not afraid of heights, you have in Marbella AVENTURA AMAZONIA, fun in the trees.

- Another of the most spectacular excursions is to go to the famous CAMINITO DEL REY. (In my activities category you have everything you need to make your reservation easily and comfortably. It is a very popular activity so if you are interested don't hesitate to make your reservation).

It is true that there is a lot to see and do in the city, but if you only have a few 24 hours, I am going to suggest and plan your day so that all you have to do is enjoy yourself:- I recommend you to start the day with a good breakfast that you can enjoy in the hotel Only YOU, in its restaurant LOLA, located on the 7th floor, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the historic centre and port of Malaga and where they will serve you a magnificent breakfast (from 07:30 to 11:00h).- With your batteries full and your energy up, stroll through the historic centre; as soon as you get out of the hotel, in front of you, you have Calle Larios (main street of the city full of shops), any street on the right will take you to Plaza del Obispo, a very touristic square where you can see the Catedral de la Encarnación (+info). I encourage you to go in and see this architectural jewel.When you finish, stroll along Calle Cister until you reach Calle Alcazabilla, where you will find the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre.A stop for a local wine and tapas at Bodega El Pimpi, an emblematic place with a terrace and a typical Andalusian bodega interior to admire, is not to be missed. You can make a reservation or call through the link.- Once you've had a proper lunch, go out the door of El Pimpi onto Calle Granada, take Calle San Agustín and you'll come to the Picasso Museum.- In the late afternoon, between the Alcazaba and the Museum of Malaga, you will find the Paseo de Don Juan Temboury which takes you to the Gibralfaro Viewpoint, where you will find another magnificent view of the city. If you have time, you can enter the Gibralfaro Castle, just behind the viewpoint.- To end your day, you can go down by taxi, bus or on foot, depending on your strength, and finish the day at Muelle Uno, a place full of little stalls and shops where you can buy souvenirs and have dinner by the sea. As a recommendation; have dinner at CAMBARA and finish with a cocktail on the NUSA terrace.

How to organise your weekend to make the most of it? I'll tell you how!    - Day 1:Start your journey with a good breakfast at the Only YOU hotel, in its LOLA terrace, from where you can contemplate a panoramic view of the historic centre and port of Malaga while you enjoy a sensational breakfast (From 07:30 to 11:00).Stroll around the historic centre, starting from the famous Larios street just outside the hotel, you can choose from the many museums nearby (Picasso, Thyssen, etc). In this part of the centre you will find plenty of shops to buy souvenirs.Rest your legs and recharge your batteries at the popular Winery El Pimpi, order a local wine and enjoy its magnificent cuisine. To make sure you get a place, click here and make a reservation!If the weather permits, which it surely will, as in Malaga we have an annual average of 300 days of sunshine, go for a walk along the Paseo de Don Juan Temboury, very pleasant and generally quiet, until you reach the Gibralfaro viewpoint (about 20 minutes), with one of the best views of the city. If you have time, you can take the opportunity to enter the Gibralfaro Castle, which is just behind it.Once the experience is over and to put the finishing touch to the day, I recommend you to take a taxi to get to the Pedregalejo area, it is not a long way so it won't cost you too much (you could also go by bus but there is no direct line from there) and taste the famous espetos de sardinas and frituras malagueñas (fried sardines). El Balnerario is one of the most outstanding and best places to try them, also the Espigones or Maricuchi have an exceptional quality.   - Day 2:We start the day with several options for breakfast:- In front of the sea and in the area of Pedregalejo: Galerna- Historical centre: La Recova, a very unique place, they have the peculiarity of presenting in a carton of eggs the multiple options to spread on the toast they serve you. Another typical place is Casa Aranda, where the churros with chocolate are a classic you can't miss.With energy in your body, go to the famous Cathedral of the Encarnación, then stroll along Calle Cister until you reach the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba and finish in the Plaza de La Merced.Select one of the restaurants in my category and enjoy the delicious Mediterranean diet, any of them will be a great choice.If you want to try the best ice cream in the area, Casa Mira (Calle Larios) is the place to go, considered the oldest ice cream parlour in Malaga and undoubtedly the most delicious.Now it's time to walk down to Muelle Uno, a pleasant and comfortable walk from the historic centre. Enter the Palmeral del muelle and discover on the promenade the colossal boats that are usually moored there. You can also do some fun nautical activities (go to the activities category and find out which ones).Continue your tour along the waterfront, where you'll have the opportunity to explore a lively flea market, shop in a variety of shops and enjoy a wide variety of restaurants for dining and extraordinary cocktails. The most recommended is CAMBARA and the NUSA terrace.

Malaga has a lot to offer in terms of fun and activities, making it a vibrant and lively city.If you are here to have a good time, I recommend these options:- In the ACTIVITIES category you will find a multitude of cool activities (boat trips, Quads, tapas tours, seqways, etc).- The areas with a lot of atmosphere during the day are the historic centre, where you can stroll through its narrow streets, do some shopping and have tapas in any of the restaurants that I recommend in the category RESTAURANTS (the most popular in the city can be found here) and Pedregalejo, here I suggest you try the famous frituras (fried fish) and espetos (skewered fish) of the area, the quality is fantastic.- The late night in the city is in the Soho area, where you can go to LA FABRICA or ANTOJO (the latter is open until 06:00) with live music and an atmosphere of people between 35-50 years old.If you want to warm up before going indoors, the ideal place to go is the NUSA terrace, located on the promenade of La Farola, above Muelle Uno, with beautiful views and even better sunsets. Once you're ready we can head back to the historic centre where the nightlife is.- Nights should start in the heights. Malaga has many rooftops, but one of the best is the terrace of Only YOU (LOLITA), where you can have a few drinks in a pleasant atmosphere and 10 views. Continue the party until late in any of the recommendations we make in the category TERRACES AND DRINK BARS.

The best place in the city to get panoramic views of the city. As a recommendation I invite you to visit the legendary wine house "La Odisea", where you can taste and buy Malaga wines, located in an 18th century building with an Andalusian patio, and then go up the Coracha to the Mirador.
