The first Smurf village in the world and one of the most beautiful villages in Malaga.
Júzcar had gone unnoticed by tourists until 2011, when the production company Sony Picture chose this village for the filming of the movie "The Smurfs 3D". For this purpose, the facades of the houses were painted blue, as well as the town hall and the church.
Due to the success of the film and the flood of visitors and onlookers who came to Júzcar, the people of Júzcar agreed to leave the facades of the village painted blue, instead of returning to the original white.
Júzcar is located in the mountainous terrain of the Serranía de Ronda. It is a typical little village with narrow, steep, labyrinthine streets. There are only about 225 inhabitants, so you can get an idea of how small the village is. You will only need a couple of hours to visit it.
