The Cathedral of Malaga is the largest and most important monument you can visit in our city, located in its historic centre.
Dedicated to the Incarnation, it is one of the main jewels of the Spanish Renaissance.
You can't miss it!
Centro histórico
Calle Molina Larios 9, 29015, Málaga, 29015
Although its official name is Catedral de la Encarnación, it is popularly known as the Manquita. Its construction began in 1528 and its works lasted for 250 years, even so, it remained unfinished, the most significant feature being the lack of the south tower, hence the name Manquita.
The temple is considered one of the most valuable Renaissance jewels in Andalusia. It is in its interior that Malaga Cathedral reaches its greatest splendour. It combines different architectural styles, from the original Gothic, through the Renaissance, to the Baroque of the end of the 18th century. The result is an interior of great architectural beauty and a wealth of artistic works that you can see during your visit.
